To determine the service life of its products, igus® puts them through trials under the most adverse conditions in its 41,000 square foot test laboratory. Up to 10 billion test cycles are completed each year in the test lab.
Using the data gained from over 4,000 tests and more than 7,500 results, the e-chain® service life calculator was developed to determine the operating time of the igus® standard energy chains in specific applications. More tests are performed every day in the endeavor to deliver more precise statements about the service life.
With years of test data to support the service life of their products, igus® is the only supplier in the world to offer a 4-year guarantee on their energy chains.

Energy chains often have a service life of over 10 years (depending on the application, environment and dynamic parameters). The new guaranteed service gives customers the confidence of being able to design their individual application right and always choose the most cost-effective e-chain® that works reliably.
The guarantee is valid for new purchases as of 15/02/2020. It begins with the delivery date of the energy chain and covers all e-chain component failure due to wear and tear.
The guarantee ends at the end of the 4-year period, starting from the date of delivery.
The chainflex® cables used in the e-chain® also come with a guarantee of up to 4 years.
The e-chain® guarantee is valid around the world. The issuing authority is igus® GmbH, no matter from where you request the guaranteed certificate via the service life calculator.
For the given guarantee period, igus® provides a free replacement (delivery ex works). This only applies to igus® e-chain® components that fail due to wear and tear.
This does not include failure due to mechanical impact and damage due to incorrect assembly.
Shipping of replacement parts does not extend the guarantee period.
The e-chain® service life guarantee is valid for the number of double strokes calculated according to the igus® online service life calculator, or until 4 years from the delivery date - whichever comes first. The guarantee applies to all energy chains that can be selected in the service life calculator.
