Corrosion-resistant rod ends in the rowing rods

igubal® Application Overview

igubal KARM rod end in sailing boat Seascape 24
  • What was needed: Spherical plain bearings in the connections of tiller, drive shaft and rudder blades
  • Requirements: 3-dimensionally movable, minimal friction, clearance-free, saltwater/corrosion-free, maintenance-free, durable
  • Industry: Marine
  • Success for the customer: igubal® KARM-rod ends are the perfect alternative to conventional metal bearings that corrode in contact with salt water. The associated problems - seizure with increasing load on the connecting pins and increasing clearance, discoloration of the white cockpit floor in the event of rust - can be avoided with igubal® spherical plain bearings. With a robust plastic housing and an extremely low-friction spherical ball, the bearings enable permanently easy 3D movement, without lubrication, corrosion and maintenance, without increasing clearance in the system. Another advantage: they are more cost-effective than stainless metal spherical plain bearings.
